In what ways has your business changed since COVID-19?
I understand this question but I will say that the most poignant changes in this business had little to do with COVID-19. In difficult we learn a lot about relationship and community...so I will simply say in some ways we changed completely and in others not at all. The mission remains the same no matter the economic climate or pandemic insanity. We find ways to be of service.
What's the first thing you do every morning to set the tone for your day?
What tool, object, or ritual could you not live without in your workday?
Music is helpful...always helpful.
How did you come up with the name for your business?
That's the hardest part of a business, I think. I had other names and I had a trusted friend to run them by. I recommend having a trusted friend to run them by.
How did you get the idea for your business?
I'm a massage therapist...soooooo. It just happened one day.
What does the world need more of?
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Equanimity and fiscal equality. I would be the poverty smasher. Peace through ending poverty...that's kinda my thing.
What's your favorite thing to do in Richmond when you're not in your business
Walk. I love walking in new parks and neighborhoods.
What's your hidden talent?
I can juggle and play the kazoo. I should try to do that at the same time...and also I love to do singing telegrams. I would start another business doing that.
What was the first concert you ever attended?
Tears for Fears, Shout Tour
Who do you look up to and why?
My grandparents. They were honest and kind...always those two things at the same time.
What do you love most about Richmond?
Parks...all of them.
What's the best thing about being a local business owner?
The ability to do what I love and be part of a community.
