A transom bursting with greenery above the doorway sets the scene for what’s inside Carytown’s newest shop, Mamie’s Apothecary. The latest project by Lisa McSherry, the retailer behind Lex’s of Carytown, Mamie’s Apothecary officially opened its doors the first day of July showcasing an array of natural products for the body, and for the home.
“I realized I was so careful about what I was putting into my body, but I also need to be careful about what I am putting on my body,” said McSherry, speaking to what inspired her to open the shop.

Beyond the pretty packaging, the products Mamie’s Apothecary stocks are tried and true, often by McSherry and her friends, with simple, honest ingredients. In an effort to encourage customers to know exactly what they are putting in and on their bodies, Mamie’s Apothecary has even sprinkled magnifying glasses around the store.
The store carries all-natural organic soaps and cleaners that are clearly labeled with their ingredients.
