10 Locally Produced Foods to Try this Winter

As winter takes root here in Richmond and the temperature drops, we can’t think of a better time to curl up at home with some homegrown Richmond food products. Sure, Richmond has great local shops and amazing restaurants, but we’re also proud to be home to some tasty foods produced right here in the River City which are available* at both the big box grocery stores as well as local groceries including Ellwood Thompson’s Local Market, Good Foods Grocery, and Libbie Market, as well as farmer’s markets. Here are 10 locally-produced items on our shopping list for winter: 

  • AR’s Hot Southern Honey: What began as a single product specialty brand combining sweet and spicy flavors into a Southern Hot Honey now features a collection of honeys for all tastes, as well as a peach honey hot sauce and spicy honey peanut butter.
  • Capital Chips: The perfect tortilla chip for scooping nachos or eating by themselves these chips come in full size or delectable bite sized.
  • Del Sauce Hot Sauce: Available in eight flavors, these hot sauces come in eight different flavors and are the perfect addition to everything from eggs to cocktails.
